Using Archimedes Principle in crossing the strait at Tiquina outside Copacabana, Bolivia.

Journeying to Isla Del Sol from La Paz in Bolivia you have to take a bus which stops at a strait crossing. Instead of a bridge the locals drive the busses and cars onto barges that are powered by a motor to transport the bus across the water.

The barge method works because of law of physics called “Archimedes’ Principle” on buoyancy and floatation. Although they look heavy, the barge and bus do not sink because their weight do not create enough pressure on the water.
